Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shelve new and returned material to their appropriate location
  • Sticker newly processed books/media
  • Shift stacks to accommodate new materials
  • Shelf read and keep the Curriculum Resources and Media Collections organized
  • Perform bibliographic checking of publisher’s catalogs, review journals, and other items selected by the Unit Head
  • Assist with processing instructional materials for CA State-Adopted programs for our Learning
  • Resource Display Center
  • Assist library users who need to check out uncataloged material
  •  Assist with Government Document and other Reference Services projects

Requirements and Expectations:

  • Work 6-10 hours per week
  • Must maintain a regular work schedule, and communicate with supervisor in a timely manner when schedule changes are necessary
  • Computer literacy-basic office suite programs and working knowledge of the Library website
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently without direct supervision, as well as cooperatively with other staff
  • Ability to solve problems, see patterns, ask questions, and carry out research using printed materials and online resources
  • Ability to follow instructions and follow and communicate Library policies and procedures
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs. and push heavy shelving trucks
